Career Coaching for Students Testimonials

adam-lambert-standing-ovationThe following is positive feedback from actual participants or their parents after completing a Career Coaching for Students program.  They were not compensated for the feedback.  Names are not published to protect their privacy, however, just ask and we'll provide as many references as you'ld like. Please contact us if you have questions about this information.

Every program receives the same feedback. We've picked out a few to share. What will you say at the end of the program? More importantly, what will you say 10 years from now about this program?

From a 2011 Participant in the Career Coaching for Students program, delivered by Center for Home Education, Watauga, TX

Dear Rosie Watson (Center for Home Education Founder and Licensed Career Coaching for Students Facilitator),

This is [Chris C]! I wanted to touch base with you after having [completed my undergraduate program] this past December, as I'm sure you are aware. I also wanted to thank you for pushing the career coaching course during my senior year—I've told Tommy Carrington (co-Facilitator) already, but I think that course really helped me to restructure my approach to higher education and working life with a focus on long-term goals and personal investment. So thanks for that. Also, I'm happy to inform you that I'm planning to go for my PhD in English and Rhetoric, and will be starting grad school this coming Fall.

Thanks again for all the hard work you've put into the school--it pays off!

All the best,

Chris C.

Mom and School Board Member Responds to FB Posting:

FB Posting by Carl Nielson: Which is likely to have higher GPA, the student who has a clear vision for their future or the student who says "I don't have a clue what I'm going to do after high school?" Most adults have difficulty being motivated to achieve when they don't have clarity around the goal. Give a high school student a future vision and see their GPA go up.

From Pam Peters, a school board member of Celina High School on her two sons attending the workshop: “Amen! Love your workshop, Carl! It was really good for my boys in many ways.”

From Dad to High School Principal (e-mail sent to Principal week after the program ended)

I just wanted to drop you a quick note about the Career Coaching for Students program that my son and I attended. With [my son] being a freshman, it was my hope that [he] would just come away from this program with enough information to begin thinking about his future and become more motivated about his high school studies. The results…

far exceeded my expectations. He came away with a real excitement and a good idea of what he thinks he wants to do for a living when he grows up. More importantly, it gave him a practical look at the degree program(s) he would need to pursue to get into this career and also showed him the colleges he would need to go to that offer this type of degree program.

I know he may change his mind about the specific career he chooses before he graduates, but I think that he now has a clearer purpose for what he needs to accomplish in high school to pursue his interests. That’s exactly what I hoped he would gain from this. I can't recommend strongly enough that all of the high school students take this program if possible. Anyway, I just wanted to give you some feedback and thank you for offering this program for [him] to take advantage of.

From a Sophomore in High School

The assessment results were very helpful and fun to read about myself. I still have some work to do to choose the best career option for me but I feel much better about how to do the research and the career options that were suggested through [the assessment results] really helped me narrow my interests. I was kinda scared before but now I’m excited about the future. The connection between majors, college choice and career choices makes more sense now.

From a Junior in High School

I felt like there were so many options and interests for me that I couldn’t focus on career direction or make a decision about a college major or even what school to attend. This workshop really helped me narrow my options in a good way. I’m much less worried about my future plans - mainly because I now have plans for my future.

From a Mom

Just wanted to let you know that my daughter and I really enjoyed the Career Coaching for Students program with my daughter.  I think it had a lot of valuable tools she will be able to use in the years to come. I also wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the guest interviewee who founded the Dallas Christian Chamber of Commerce.  He had much valuable information for the kids that they can take with them for the rest of their lives.  I believe he touched many lives yesterday, including mine.

Whenever you can get this gentleman to return and talk to your students,...grab him!  I hope when my son takes this seminar next year that he will be the one my son gets to hear.

Thanks again and I so enjoyed your program.

From a College Student

This is incredible and extremely insightful. This is not at all what I was provided in high school. I feel like the fog has been lifted. I have several friends planning to do the program.

From a Mom

Mother of 4 kids, all have completed the program, all are academic high acheivers
